Real Brides: Alexia
Aaron and I met in our sophomore year of high school in 2013. I remember distinctly when he walked into class that first day. It was in history class. We slowly grew to become friends in that class and got stuck doing a video project together. That was when our friendship really blossomed. Him and I, to this day, will sit on the couch and watch that video together. We maintained a solid friendship for about 2 years. Then our senior year homecoming was coming up. He had just recently gotten out of a relationship and nobody had asked me yet, so it was my best friend's brilliant idea to try to get Aaron to ask me, but just as friends of course. That night was one of the most fun we've both had in a really long time and probably the first night that we both spent one-on-one time together. We ended up going to the same college, where I received an academic scholarship and he received a baseball scholarship. From then on we've been growing our relationship and enjoying every stage along the way. It's crazy that the goofy kid I was friends with in high school is now my husband.
I went to Mon Amie Bridal Salon with my 2 maid of honors and my mom and I ended up finding my dress the first time around. I can honestly say that my wedding dress experience was like something out of "Say Yes to The Dress". I tried on about 10 dresses. All different styles. I think I tried on my Val Stefani dress 3rd. I knew deep down how stunning I felt and seriously nothing compared after words. I tried on the dress again and got all dolled up with a veil and bouquet and the moment I turned around to see myself, I started balling and so did my girls and mom. That's how I knew. I think the best part about the whole process is that my mom got her wedding dress there as well. When I went in for my first fitting and it was just my size and fit me like a glove. It was even more beautiful than when I picked it out the first time. My seamstress didn't have to make one alteration. It was meant to be. Our special day was on August 29, 2020 and is a day I'll never forget.
