Real Brides: Danielle
My husband and I met briefly the first time at my 30th
Birthday, where we were introduced through mutual friends. We didn't get to
know one another until two years later, when we crossed paths again. We became
friends for a full year (I had a crush on him that whole time), when he
(finally!) asked me on a date. On our first date we went to a lake where
he taught me how to fish, and we both recited poems from memory as the sun was
setting. Afterwards, we got dinner and drinks. A year and a half later, he
proposed to me in front of the Grand Canyon.
When I was searching for a wedding dress, I was trying to decide between two dresses from two different shops, neither of which I was totally satisfied with. I kept mulling back and forth between the two, content with neither. I was praying to find a dress that I really loved when I decided to go back to the very first shop I had visited in my wedding dress search - White Swan Bridal in Vienna, Virginia, for one last dig at finding something I would be excited about. As soon as I tried on the couture Val Stefani gown, I knew it was the dress for me. It was elegant and unique, and a style that I knew I would always look back upon and love. I added a mantilla veil to complete the look. I felt the dress was a perfect match for me, just like the man for whom I would wear.
