I met my husband through a mutual friend almost seven years ago. Once we started dating, we we’re together every night. The night he proposed was so perfect. I was cooking supper when he came home and he had decided he was going to propose. I had no idea he was going to propose, so when I turned around and saw him on one knee, I was very surprised and so excited. We got married on July 24, 2021. I went dress shopping a few weeks after we got engaged as soon as stores opened back up after being shut down. 

I found my dress at Pretty ‘n Pearls in West Jefferson, NC. I always knew I wanted my dress to have lace all over. I actually thought I wanted a strapless, A-line gown. I tried on a few different styles and the first mermaid gown tried on helped me decide that was the style I wanted but it didn’t have lace all over. And then the sixth dress I tried on was mine. I knew it was it because it had everything I wanted and more. It had the lace and it was a mermaid gown. I loved the strappy back and knew right away that it was the dress for me.
