Real Brides: Sigita
My husband, Janis - We knew each other when we were kids. We were playing together since I was 5. Our parents were best friends. From what I remember, Janis moved to a different city and that's it. It was just a blur of memories. Time passed and after 15 years we found each other on Facebook. Couples more years passed and we started to talk, starting from our childhood memories...He made me lough so much. Every single time I had a smile on my face. We are meant to be for each other. I believe it was already written in our fate. We are together 6 years and have a beautiful 2 years old daughter who doesn't stop reminding us how much we love each other...
At first, I always thought I will get a very simple dress online, easy peasy...Then my friend took me to bridal shops for the trials. We were a bit late for my appointment and the shop was closed 20 minutes earlier that day. So, as we had time, we were searching the nearest bridal shops and found the small but lovely SHADE BRIDAL BOUTIQUE. It was locked but we saw someone inside and rang the door bell. Emma came with a beautiful smile and lovely personality. She apologized and told us that she was in the middle of organizing orders and the shop is a bit messy, but that didn't stop us from asking to go in. We specifically came for a mermaid wedding dress so it didn't take Emma too much time to find my fit. We found it...in 2 minutes and that's it. I didn't want to shop for others dresses. Emma let us try on and it was so emotional, I couldn't stop my tears. I felt everything, every detail made me feel special. Cleavage made me feel sexy like never. But, the most amazing is the train! I felt like a white bird - white peacock. I knew it, this is the one. I went home so excited, and after 2 days, I called my friend and asked Emma, "please book me in, I m going to ordered it!" I came back, tried on the dress again and said yes as I cried again. Definitely this dress was MINE!
I'm a person who loves to share my happiness with my husband, but in this case I could not. It's should be a surprise for him. So I made a story up. All time of the half year when I wanted speak about the dress and how excited I was, I told him everything opposite. I told him it will be plain, ballgown dress with long sleeves. It's not gonna be white. Oh dear, it was funny and hard to lie to him at the same time. Eventually, he was getting stress about it. In his head, he was standing beside me with a dress from the movie, Toothless, with Kirstie Alley in leading role (Rest in peace). On the big day, Janis couldn't stop looking at me and it reminted me how much he loves me in this dress. This wedding dress clearly showed my personality.
