Real Brides: Kylene
Garett and I met in high school in Texas when he was the only one that would ride a carnival ride with me. We did not date then, we just ran in the same circles. It wasn't until 10 years later after I had moved closer to home in Oklahoma, that we reconnected via social media. It did not take long for us to recognize that there was magic there. After not even a year of dating, he asked me to marry him in Tucson, Arizona. We were married within the same year on 9/21/17 at the Thorncrown chapel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
It was a short hunt for my dress, as I had an idea in my head of what I wanted, but when I tried on my dress, I knew. It was only the second day of looking with some candidates in the running, but all of them had one or two things that I didn't like. I could make them work, but they just weren't quite right. My mom suggested we go to one more store in the area, Bella Rose Bridal in Edmond Oklahoma. I was not enthusiastic because upon my research, they did not have the bohemian-ethereal-whimsical dresses I was looking for, but she had a feeling and we went with it. As soon as I described my barefoot dream wedding, they started pulling dresses. When coming upon my Val Stefani dress, I was in love. It was dreamy with champagne lace and both understated yet show-stopping. I was obsessed, but I loved when it fell off the shoulder naturally and as the design was meant to sit on top of the shoulders, I wasn't sure if it was my dress. I was elated when they told me that the dress was actually customizable and that anything I wanted to make happen to it, I could. The end result was more than I could've hoped for. I felt like a fairy tale princess from Sherwood forest and my barefoot dreams of marrying my prince in the woods came true.
